The Inferior Superiors

We have been living a life
Based on a deceitful lie
That we are nothing as black skin,
Signified color of evil
Our whole culture a shambles
Our past burned up, now rubble

We have forgotten that we are royalty
Our golden black color our pride
Our rich culture, nothing to hide
Our vast wealth, birth right
Yet we give it all away, shameless
For a lie etched by a scribe

Remembering no "do not"

Once upon a time, we were young.
Once upon a time, we were kings of our castles.
Once upon a time, we didn't know hope, or fear or sadness. Because we lived in the moment. We laughed, we cried, and forgot the next minute. Once upon a time nothing could stop us - we owned everything, and everything was open to us. We did not have the "do not's" that we have now; we did not "do not" dream, "do not" laugh - these have been taught to us. Because our hearts were empty yet had no space for but that which we wanted.

Remember to always live once upon a time

Waltzing with Life

The absurd craziness
The absolute aliveness
of living a moment at a time
Unafraid, unworried
Of revolting stares
at your shameless dares
At you lack of shame
at your "life's a game"

"Busyness" business

Busy, busy
We're all too busy
Chasing shadows
A dispassionate life
Of unconscious living
And uncontrolled droning

Choose to live
To sit back, and
Appreciate people and things
And birds that sing
To smile at life
and take as wife

Swoosh, swoop
A calm, clear glide
Above water
Above lakes
by stirred waves

Musings of a Philopher

To miss a mind
To miss a thought
To miss "aha" laughter,
the truth-seeker's deadlock

Shake & Stir

Leave her bedazzled
Because she's been dazzled
Her head light
Her knees weak

Serve her shaken and stirred
leave her mind upside-down
Not feeling her feet
her heart skipping three beats

All since your conjuring
Got her head spinning
And her mind purring
Her body sweating
Her soul screaming
And her heart crying
For another taste
of your loving..

For the Friends we Lost (Subscriber Cannot be Reached)

I still have your number
On my phone

See I caught myself smiling
at a thought of you
and was just about to dial
for a thrilling laugh

When I remembered
that you can no longer be reached.

Rest In Peace

Worlds of Old

To sit at elders' feet
And listen to words of old
Of worlds of old
Is my biggest crave
When we lived like one
In touch with God
Earth, our mother
And each other

Reaper, Reaper

I miss the laugh
I miss the smile
I miss the life
That filled your words
I miss to speak
I miss the charm
All 'coz the reaper's whisk
Trod your path

To the Warrior who forgets himself

I fought a thousand battles
And braved a thousand deaths
What makes such scath
Of one past thousand
Any more cogent
Than wars past?

A Country Sacrificed by Pot-Bellied Men

Clot and clog
And hazy fog
And blinded search
For endless nights
Chasing shadows
You do not see
Yet yourself allowed
For glutton's greed
And now we all pay
For your foolish sins
For your pot-belly's feed
And your harlots' seed
Through your crank's minute spit
For your careless vice
For your love of dice
Look where you brought us;
Was it all worth
a country's sacrifice?

to and from, the world

The more I got
from this world
The less I wanted
from this world
The less I wanted
from this world
The more I gave
to the world
And the more I got
of the world

*from is material
**of is intrinsic & non-material

With body and soul
And mind and heart
And all else between
That to you it belongs

A Tribute to Working Artists

A salute
to the misfits
The crazy ones
Who sit at
the back of
their desks
And see canvas
and paint and brush
And not a means
to above paltry sum
at the end
of a doleful day

The Sinking Cruise

As dark as nothingness
An empty bottomless abyss
As hollow as cries
Of homeless hounds
Are the voices of the people
On this rudderless ship
Coerced by waves
To the bed of the sea
